Payment gateways enable you to accept live credit card transactions on your site. Some payment gateways like PayPal only require a percentage fee on each sale with others like SAGE Pay (Protx) require you to have an Internet merchant number. You can find some further information on setting up and choosing the right payment gateway in our 'Top Trade Tips': http://blog.dpivision.com/2008/10/top-trade-tips-from-dpivisioncom/. Simply signup to each payment gateway and enter the required information. Please note that all the information we ask for you to enter here can be obtained from the various 3rd party gateways you signup too. There are two types of payment gateways available:

Payment Gateway Types

On-Site

On-site payment gateways take care of the payment process entirely within your website. You can only select to use one gateway at a time. Your customers would enter their card details on your site and would not be re-directed to a 3rd party.

Off-Site

Off-site payment gateways re-direct the customer to a third party site in order to enter their payment details after the order has been reviewed. Once the payment has been made, the user would then get re-directed to your website.

Gateway Testmode

Most payment gateways will have a test mode in place with test credit card numbers you can place orders with to see how your system works. This is a very important aspect as tests must be performed along with a few transactions using a real card. While in test mode simply leave the gateway testmode check box selected, and when you're all done, un-check the option then save your changes and you are in live mode.

Currency

Enter the currency code you would like credit card payments to be taken in. For the UK pound (£) enter: GPB
