Help » Marketing » Global Settings
The global settings are all the core settings within Tradingeye. Please do take some time to go through them all as the important parts of your shops functionality are set and determined here.
Feature Settings
Select Language
Tradingeye has a built in language pack which means by just translating one file, you can have your entire admin and website in the language of your choice. Please select the language from the drop down menu with many more coming soon.
Enable Stock Control
Would you like to enable stock control for products and options? Simply select this option and additional fields will be made available to you when you are building a product.
Show Top Sellers on Homepage
This feature enables you to show the best selling products on your home page automatically for you. Please note however that this will override any featured products you may have associated to your home page. You can either show manually associated products or the best sellers.
Shop by Supplier/Brand
The shop by brand enables the ability for your customers to be able to buy/search for products by supplier/brand with the use of an easy select list which would appear in the menu of your website.
Show Recently Viewed products
This feature ables you to show a series of products your customers have just been viewing. They would appear as a list in your websites menu. This is a great tool when browsing a site as you can then easily go back to products you have previously been looking at.
Enable Customer Reviews
This enables you to offer the ability for your customers to write a review with a star rating on each product. Customers can then also see the amount of times a product has been reviewed, read the reviews but also see the overall star rating for that product. Customer reviews can be edited and the admin is always notified when a review has been posted.
Enable Wish List
The wish list enables your customers to add products to a shopping list which can then be sent out to a group of people with a message. Great for letting know family members know what you want for Christmas!
Enable Article RSS Feeds
Would you like to enable the Article RSS feed on you website? (by default a link would appear in the footer section of your site). For more help on RSS feeds please see the admin -> marketing -> feeds help section.
Enable Product RSS Feeds
Would you like to enable the product RSS feed on you website? (by default a link would appear in the footer section of your site). For more help on RSS feeds please see the admin -> marketing -> feeds help section.
Enable Product Comparison
The product comparison works in a similar way to the wish list section. Users can add products to a shopping list but this time, they are able to compare the products by items such as the name, price or description but also by any attributes the product may have.
Newsletter Signup (visitor)
This feature enables you to offer a newsletter signup form to your visitors which would normally appear in the menu of your website.
Enable Gift Wrapping
This feature enables you to offer gift wrapping to your customers in the shopping cart. To build the actual gift wrapping products you want to offer, please refer to the admin -> marketing -> promotions help section.
Newsletter Signup (customer)
This newsletter signup option is available to your customers when they are about to place an order with you. It also has more options than the visitor signup as your customers can also choose to receive a plain text or HTML newsletter.
Enable Drop Shipping
Drop shipping is a very handy tool that enables you to sell products direct from your suppliers but most importantly, have them send the product out to the customer! You would first need to turn this option on, add some suppliers, build some products and associate the relevant supplier, then when a customer places a purchase, the supplier would get a copy of the email invoice. Once the product has been sent, the supplier would click on a link which was included in the invoice which in turn would update the order to dispatched.
Offer Member Points
Would you like to offer a membership points promotion to your customers? (for more information on member points, please see the admin -> marketing -> promotions help section.
Google Analytics Tracking Code
Google analytics is a very powerful free web stat tracking tool from Google. Simply signup to a Google account and then copy in the relevant code into this section. This code will automatically be added to all the pages of your site so can start viewing in depth web stats about how many visitors your site is getting to which search engine or website referred them to you. http://www.google.com/analytics/
